Santino Marella may be returning to in-ring action!
According to Santino Marella’s personal Facebook page, his retirement may not be a solid case, as his recent surgery could allow him to return to in-ring action!

“Surgery went well, there were some unexpected broken bones in my neck apparently but everything is looking good now, let the legendary comeback begin! 6 months till I get to do what I was born to do again, perform in front of the wwe universe.”
“There’s multiple things wrong with my neck. but the stenosis has increased to the point where it has to be fixed. I’m not cleared for physical contact due to the severity of my stenosis, but apparently with a double fusion you actually can return to the ring with four to six months of recovery time.”
“I believe being the Milan Miracle I have one miracle left,” said Marella. “There’s one belt that I haven’t captured—the WWE Championship—and it’s going to require that miracle to do it. On the right day at the right time I can definitely experience capturing that championship. There’s still some good wrestling left in this guy, so that’s what we’re going to try to do.”

With that being said, I have a ton of skeptical opinions toward the matter. In this modern age of “rally behind the underdog”, it’s entirely possible that the WWE Universe would embrace a run for the title featuring Marella. At the same time, has Marella’s WWE career done too much damage to that possibility? Between the comedic elements and the camaraderie between himself and other talents (i.e., Emma, Kozlov, etc.), it’s difficult to ascertain that he could be a candidate for a championship run.
However, the “YES!” spouting, Team Hell No member went from being a comedic element on the show to being a WrestleMania main eventer. As Vince McMahon use to spout years ago, “anything can happen in the WW[E]!” With that being said, does anyone believe that Santino Marella is a potential future WWE World Heavyweight Champion?!
